Weltrend Reports First Quarter EPS of NT$0.02

| Hsinchu, Taiwan, May 5, 2017 – Weltrend Semiconductor (TAIEX: 2436) today announced financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2017 with consolidated revenue of NT$ 495.21million, net income of NT$ 4.12million, and diluted earnings per share of NT$0.02. |
| Year-over-year, first quarter revenue increased 12%, net income decreased 76.6%, while diluted EPS decreased 75%. Compare to fourth quarter 2016, revenue decreased 6.5%, net income decreased 84.9%, and diluted EPS decreased 83.3%. All figures were prepared in accordance with TIFRS on a consolidated basis. |
| Gross margin for the quarter was 25%, operating margin was 5%, and net profit margin was 1%. |
